Dr. Francesca Parker is an insightful and empathic psychologist and graduate professor with more than 12 years of clinical and research experience.

Born and raised in New York City, she developed a passion for psychology and social justice early on when her journalist father brought her with him on political assignments abroad.

Dr. Parker completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago. She then went on to earn her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. While there, she focused her dissertation research on healing historical trauma in Native American communities, based on her time spent in the Navajo Nation.

Dr. Parker’s related research on trauma, culture and resiliency has been recognized in multiple scientific forums including the American Psychological Association’s Annual Convention where she was invited to present in 2016.

She continues her academic work and mental health advocacy as a Senior Researcher and Adjunct Psychology Professor at Pepperdine University.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Parker expertly assists clients to manage grief, relationship conflict, identity exploration, mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and recovery from trauma.

She enjoys long-lasting, meaningful relationships with her clients based on a foundation of empathy, authenticity, acceptance, and mutual respect. Dr. Parker seeks to empower and support her clients, and works collaboratively to select the approaches that will be most helpful to reaching their goals.
