Dr. Sharon H. O’Neil, PHD, MHA, ABPP-CN, ABPDN
Dr. Sharon O’Neil is a board-certified pediatric neuropsychologist in Newport Beach with more than twenty-years experience.
Dr. Sharon O’Neil currently serves as Director of a hospital-wide neuropsychology research program at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and holds a faculty appointment as Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology and Pediatrics at USC Keck School of Medicine.*
In addition to these roles, Dr. O’Neil lends her expertise to provide developmental, autism spectrum, academic, and neuropsychological evaluations for clients of the Curry Psychology Group in Newport Beach.
As a neuropsychologist, Dr. Sharon O’Neil specializes in the assessment of brain-based conditions including learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and autism spectrum disorder.
She also evaluates the long-term impact of insult or injury to the central nervous system due to medical diagnoses or treatment including preterm birth, congenital heart disease, epilepsy, leukemia, brain tumors, neurofibromatosis, and sickle cell anemia.
Dr. Sharon O’Neil obtained her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1999, after which she completed two years of advanced fellowship training in pediatric neuropsychology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). From 2003 to 2012, she directed the clinical neuropsychology program in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. In 2012, she was recruited to her current position directing neuropsychological research at CHLA.
