The Curry Psychology Group does not accept payment from any insurance company except Tricare military insurance. This means that clients are responsible for paying for services at the time of each appointment. We help clients seek partial reimbursement for fees from their insurance company by submitting electronic claims on our clients’ behalf after each appointment. With electronic claim submission, clients don’t have to mail invoices or fill out insurance forms to file a claim, and payments are usually processed much faster. Clients who have out-of-network mental health coverage typically receive a check within two weeks of their appointment.

To Check Your Out-of-Network Benefits:

Call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

    • Does my plan offer out-of-network benefits for mental health services?
    • If so, what is my plan’s maximum allowable amount for service code 90837 with a Psychologist?
    • What percentage of the maximum allowable amount does insurance cover?
    • How much would I be reimbursed?
    • Do I have a deductible for out-of-network services that I will have to pay before insurance starts reimbursing me?
    • If so, how much remains on the deductible?

Our office is in-network with Tricare West military insurance, meaning that services provided to active-duty and retired service members, veterans and their families are covered and billed directly to Tricare.

Some Tricare plans include a co-payment that the client is responsible for paying at each appointment. Some plans also include an annual deductible of up to $300, meaning that clients must pay the full cost of any services they receive at the start of their new health insurance year up until the deductible is met. Once the deductible amount has been satisfied, Tricare will cover the cost of services for the rest of the year.

We will help verify your Tricare insurance benefits prior to the first appointment.

Gottman Therapy consists of two phases: Assessment & Treatment.

The assessment process involves four appointments. The first is an interview with the couple to explore the story of the relationship and reasons for seeking treatment. Each partner then completes of an online relationship questionnaire, and individual interview appointments are scheduled. Once the individual interviews and questionnaires are complete, Dr. Curry will analyze the results to develop a research-based treatment plan. The couple and therapist will then reconvene for a fourth session to discuss the relationship’s strengths and challenges and recommended interventions. Education is provided in this session and initial interventions may also be provided.

The treatment phase begins after the feedback session. It involves structured, skills-based interventions to strengthen a couple’s friendship, appreciation, intimacy, conflict management and shared goals and values.

  • Initial couples’ interview (90 min) – 449.
    • (Includes Gottman Relationship Checkup Questionnaire Analysis)

  • Couples’ assessment feedback/start of treatment (90 min) – 449.
