The 2018 Hyde School Alumni Hall of Honor class has been selected!
Thank you to the selection committee and everyone who participated in nominating the second class of the Alumni Hall of Honor.
Dr. Shannon Curry is a licensed clinical psychologist serving as Director of the Curry Psychology Group, a practice she founded in Newport Beach, CA out of a commitment to bring high-quality psychological services to any and all individuals, couples, and families seeking personal help. In her effort to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of therapeutic interventions, Dr. Curry has also developed a unique specialization in animal assisted therapy.
After beginning her Hyde education on the Bath campus, Shannon joined a group of pioneering students who transferred to Woodstock in order to ensure dynamic leadership on our new campus in Connecticut. She was followed by sister, Erin, and she graduated with Honors in 1998.
She continued her education at Georgetown, UC-Irvine, and Pepperdine, where she received her PhD in clinical psychology, conducting her dissertation research on trauma interventions for international communities affected by poverty and warfare.
In addition to leading her thriving practice, Shannon has been consistently engaged with Hyde. Whether speaking to the community at a Fall Family Weekend or contributing her professional expertise to a Hyde consulting project with a publicly funded boarding school for foster children, she is all about helping individuals or groups.
Shannon lives and works in Corona Del Mar, CA.
